Mobile Health is proud to introduce Edwidge Desgraves for this fifth edition of Meet the Staff. Edwidge is the new Hempstead Site Manager, supervising the daily operations of our Hempstead clinic.

Born in Queens Hospital and raised in Queens, Edwidge first became a licensed practical nurse (LPN) at VEEB Nassau County School of Practical Nursing and went on to earn her RN degree at Nassau Community College.

She continued her education at St. Francis College, earning a Bachelor’s in Nursing. Currently, she is enrolled at Chamberlain College of Nursing for her Family Nurse Practitioner Doctorate.

Edwidge once considered a career in law enforcement, but with 21 nurses in her family, including her mother, sisters, aunts and cousins, she made the decision to enter the field of health care.

Aside from her professional life, Edwidge enjoys finding new and interesting places to eat. Her top three favorite types of food are seafood, Caribbean and Italian. Her favorite holiday is New Year’s, when her family always gets together to celebrate.

Edwidge’s philosophy of life is to pick your battles carefully, a principle that she lives by every day. If she could tell her younger self anything, it would be about the real challenges of being an adult, and to enjoy being a kid while it lasts. If she could choose anyone to be her mentor, it would be Oprah, because of her ability to rise to the top from humble beginnings.

Before joining Mobile Health, Edwidge was an evening shift supervisor for Visiting Nurse Services. Currently, at Mobile Health, she enjoys the opportunity for personal interaction, as well as managing a team and watching it grow and improve.
